Luggage on Esprit

Tauck mentions on their site that two full size suitcases are appropriate for a stateroom on the Esprit? Has anyone tested this by perhaps also taking one airline carryon size in addition.

    We have been on several river cruises. Our 2 full size suitcases and 2 roll aboards fit easily under the bed. We put the roll boards inside the big suitcases just to make it easier.
