October 19, 2026 Blue Danube from Budapest to Prague

msusman

Anyone booked for the OCTOBER 19, 2026 BLUE DANUBE CRUISE? This trip begins one week from today and I have not received anything from Tauck regarding the revisions that will be made for the trip and if there will be an option to cancel. We leave the US on Wednesday. I have been told that possibly I will hear something today.

We are on the 10/25 sailing, so the week after you. When you do hear from Tauck finally, would you please post what modifications are being offered or if the trip is canceled in its entirety? We are all in the same boat 😊 Thank you.

I will!

Just got off the phone with Tauck, who confirmed this 10/21/26 departure is cancelled. We're now exploring options to apply to a future tour/cruise date . . .

Options were 1) full 100% refund; 2) apply to reserve/use on a future tour/cruise for 2027, since 2028 pricing has yet to be determined.

Do consider rebooking for a Tauck experience. This would have been our fifth experience traveling with Tauck (1 Bridges tour; 1 land journey; 1 river cruise; 1 small ship cruise) - have never been disappointed as they always tuck in a few serendipitous surprises.

I just got off the phone with Tauck as well. They confirmed "changes" had been made to the 10/19 Blue Danube sailing but could not confirm cancellation. They had no information on the 10/25 sailing other than at this point, no changes had been made to the itinerary. Not as informative as I would have liked but evidently, par for the course?

Got an email today regarding the Budapest to Prague Blue Danube trip "sailing" on the 19th. All info is subject to change depending on the condition of the Danube. Boat cannot dock at Budapest, so first two nights are in hotel in Budapest. Then motorcoach to either Brataslava or Vienna depending where sister ship, MS Joy, can dock. Then three nights on MS Joy. After that, it all depends. Could be up to three more hotel nights in Passau area or switch to another boat. The land part to and in Prague remains unchanged. Note: hotel stays do not include unlimited alcohol and snacks as onboard stays do. Two options to decide by October 15. Go on the modified trip or cancel for a refund. The amound will depend on if you booked everything through Tauck or not, could get full refund (minus Trip Protection premium) or less if you booked airfare independently. Also mentioned that a Tauck specialist will evaluate possible reimbursements based on cabin class and number of hotel susbstitute nights. Again, this could all change.

We heard from Tauck yesterday afternoon. Randolph has outlined the details of the email in his post.

I would love to hear if any of you decided to stick with the trip and how it turned out. We hated to cancel and know that Tauck would do all they could to make it a nice trip, but the changes were dramatic enough that we decided it would not be the trip we anticipated.
