visiting Canada in June 2025

I hate to ask this question but, considering the current threat of tariffs, etc, how will Americans traveling to Canada be received?
I am sure that most Canadians realize that American tourists are not to blame for the current state of affairs.

Comments

  • Yes, we take our money there, their tourist industries depends on us. We are to blame actually because 75 million of us voted for Trump.

  • I suspect they will be delighted to have Americans supporting their economy.

  • Canadians are pretty nice people and I expect most will direct their annoyance at our government not individual visitors. That said, I wouldn't say anything or wear anything to indicate support for our current president without expecting you might get a negative reaction.

  • Do you plan or did you adhere to the recommendations on tipping to directors and drivers?

  • I always consider Tauck’s recommendations on gratuities as a baseline. I adjust accordingly—usually upwards—based on my experiences. It’s very much a personal choice.

The tourism industry does not care about politics, nor does this website. Having lived on the Canadian border I know that many Canadians do their shopping in the U.S. I don’t know why? (;-). Actually, my Toyota Highlander was built in Canada. They are also built in the U.S. How strange is that?
