Hotel choices in Rome and Malta

We need to choose a hotel in Rome and Malta. Can anyone recommend one over the other and why? Marriott Bernini or Anantara Palazzo?

  • I went with the Anantara in Rome / Marriott in Malta combination because the Rome hotel was rated higher by Trip Advisor responders than the Sina Bernini Bristol. I wanted what I felt was the best option in Rome vs perhaps the better option in Malta.

Tauck makes you pick the hotels as a pair (one in Rome and one in Malta). You can’t pick hotels in each location independently.

  • The other thing to think about with hotels is where it's situated in relation to any other sight seeing you might want to do on your own. Google maps is useful for checking this out.

  • In Rome, both hotels are pretty close to each other so location wasn’t a big driver in this instance.

  • We stayed at the Anantara. We didn’t have a window in our room. We had to open a tiny door to access a 3 foot-wide balcony that was shared with the adjoining room (no seating on the balcony, as it was tiny). Barely any light got in through this door. There was a divider on the balcony. The view from the balcony was of a parking lot and air conditioning units.
