Is it appropriate for men to wear shorts during the day on this tour?

  • I would say no. I’ve been several times and unless they are a modest Bermuda. you will blend better in long pants

  • I would say yes, if it's hot. Presumably you're a white guy, so you're never going to blend in.

  • My husband and I took this tour last year, in October. While most days were too cool for shorts, we each brought one pair of shorts (conservative, knees covered), which we did wear a couple of times.

  • Um, I hate to tell you this but unless you're Asian American you aren't going to "blend" no matter what you wear. You might be dressed less touristy or more appropriately but you'll still be a gaijin. Just go with it.

  • Hey, I meant blend better clothing wise

  • Two years living there and the two things I was most happy about returning to the US was (1) American style pizza and (2) blending in.

  • Claudia - If NM pizza is anything like CO pizza, I don't know what you're excited about. :) I say this as being originally an east coaster.

  • Still better than Japanese pizza by far. (And actually my next duty station was in CA.)

  • The best pizza I’ve ever had aside from being in Italy is One Speed Pizza in Sacramento, CA. There’s nothing better than a simple Margarita with excellent tomato sauce and authentic mozzarella.

  • So now this has turned to pizzas , the best I ever had was at a favorite local pizza place in Buenos Aries where the toppings were so thick they were oozing off the sides, served with a pitcher of beer.

  • John’s on Bleeker Street in Greenwich Village, New York. I have been going there since I was a teenager. Simple, fresh ingredients and crust so thin it seems like a cracker.
