How much free time in Paris?

On the tour Cruising the Seine, plus Paris and London, how much free time is there while in Paris at the beginning of the trip?

Not much
When we did this trip in 2023, there was a slight delay leaving London’s train station so we toured the Louvre (an after-hours event) before we embarked the boat. It was a very long day with dinner not starting until after 2100. Nonetheless, it was still a glorious day.
Guests either chose Versailles or Montmartre the next day, so there wasn’t much time to explore on your own the balance of that day. Of course, you are always free to skip any planned excursion and do your own activity. The cruise director can assist in securing transportation at your own expense.
If you wish to see more of Paris, I recommend booking post-tour days. It was a great tour. Enjoy.
kfnknfzk is correct - it's a great tour. I could walk from where the riverboat docked to the Eiffel Tower.
We did a five day trip to Paris a “few” years ago, and that was not enough. I also flew to Paris for work and never had enough time.
Agree with Sealord, one can never spend enough time in Paris. Best bet is to plan what is important for you to see. Get a good gidebook. Also, make sure you do "unplanned" time to really see the city and its people.
The best way to get the most out of Paris is to take an independent trip there for at least a week but not in the summer
I agree with you, PF606590, regarding “unplanned” time. We have always enjoyed Tauck’s curated itineraries, but have learned so much more about a country—its culture, educational system, societal norms, language—when we are on our own time and meet with the locals.
I don’t always agree with British, but this one I do. Go independent and explore Paris. The metro is very easy and you will lots of steps in. You can also sit outside with a coffee or wine and nurse that for hours, just people watching!
