Tipping in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand Questions
We are joining the Oct. 17 VCT tour and are arriving several days early. We have gotten "start-up currency".
What are the appropriate amounts to tip bell hops, restaurant servers, bartenders, and ride-share/taxi drivers in each of these countries?

We are going in January, and from what I have read US dollars are acceptable in Vietnam and Cambodia. In Thailand, the currency is the Baht. It doesn't sound like much tipping is done in these countries, so I doubt you can use US standards (i.e 15-20%). We got back from Wildlife Odyssey (Tauck) a few weeks ago and never bought even the Rand (South Africa) where we used cards. In Zimbabwe and Botswana, US dollars were readily accepted. Even our TD gave us multiple options, cash, check, Venmo or Zelle.
Did theTD start the talking about tips. They are discouraged from soliciting them. Of course checks and maybe some electronic exchanges only work if they live in the US off season. Our Vietnam TD lived in Thailand
