Beautiful hotel in a perfect location on the inner canals, in the "Nine Streets" area. Each room is unique, luxury bedding, bathrooms. Attentive service, included breakfast was very good. Approximately a 1/4 mile from the Anne Frank House. Two different bars for cocktails. We walked over to the museum area and back from the hotel, but you can also have the staff call you a taxi or Uber is easy to use in Amsterdam. (We just stayed there for two nights at the end of our Brussels to Amsterdam river cruise.)

My husband and I stayed there 15 years ago during an independent trip to Amsterdam. I enjoyed it -- even our quaint attic (my word) room. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

  • If Tauck is footing the bill, you should stay there. We stayed there for two nights following our river cruise. Yes, it is convenient for the Anne Frank House and the "Nine Streets" area. However, it was chaos when we arrived. This was after the Tauck Cruise Director had assured us that our transfers to the hotel were in place and the hotel was ready for us. Since you are starting your cruise in Amsterdam, you may not experience the chaos that we experienced when we arrived at the hotel. The hotel staff was not ready when we arrived. Our luggage was placed in a nook area near the hotel lobby. This was not a secure area. Registration took over an hour. Our room was not ready until 4:00 p.m. It was okay but small. It felt smaller than the Category 3 cabin we had on the river cruise. I don't think it was smaller but the furniture in the room was large and that made the room feel cramped. The restaurant food was fine, not exceptional. The hotel attracts a lot of tour groups. The hotel did not have sufficient staff to handle all the groups. Some of the staff truly looked exhausted. As far as taxi rides … We took a taxi to/from the Van Gogh museum. The ride to the museum was in a modern taxi at a fair rate. The return trip was in an older taxi, and we were charged twice the morning rate. We stayed at the Pulitzer because it was the Tauck recommended hotel, and we wanted the convenience. This is the first time that I have been disappointed in a Tauck-recommended hotel.

  • Heard great things about it but chose to stay at the Kimpton De Witt for price and the location close to the Centraal Station. There is a tram stop about a block from the Pulitzer Hotel and with a transfer you can easily get to multiple locations in the city. They are clean and safe even after dark. Just tap in and tap out with a contactless pay.
