I did the climb to the Monastery also after the lunch, sorry I missed the Place of Sacrifice, would have loved to see it. This was my first Tauck tour back in 1997.

Apparently it was Jackie Kennedy who led the charge to save the temples of Abu Simbel at UNESCO.
On another note… several of us bought cartouches at the Old Cataract. The prices were decent ( based on the weight of the 18 k gold ). We ordered them around 3 pm and they were back between 6:30 and 7:30 pm the same night.
