March 2 Small Group Trip Cancelled
We were on the March 2 Jordan & Egypt small group tour and were 15 minutes from leaving for the airport Saturday morning when we received a STEP alert from the Embassy in Amman to Shelter in Place. After seeing what was going on and that DXB and AMM were closed, we realized we had to decide to not go regardless of what Tauck decided. To their credit, Tauck called us about an hour later and asked where we were and if we intended to cancel or still go. While we were still on the phone with them, we got another call from Tauck telling us the trip was cancelled. The next day we got an email from them apologizing for the cancellation and that we would be receiving a full refund. After planning this trip for almost 2 years, we are very disappointed but very glad we are not stuck somewhere in the Middle East dodging drones. And Tauck's concern for their clients with their personal phone calls early Saturday morning and prudent decision to cancel is very much appreciated.

I saw the cancellation for that tour a couple of days ago on the Tauck website.
Thank goodness you received the info just in time….still a bit of a headache for you to cancel all the things one does when expected to be on vacation.
It’s been updated again today….
(March 3, 2026) As reported in the media, the United States and Israel launched strikes inside Iran over the weekend. In response, Iran initiated retaliatory missile activity targeting Israel and military installations hosting U.S. forces in Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates which has caused flight disruptions across the region. Due to a recent advisory from the U.S. State Department and continued air disruptions in the region, we have unfortunately made the difficult decision to cancel the below departures. Impacted guests and travel advisors are being contacted directly on a rolling basis; we sincerely appreciate your patience as we work through these notifications.
Jordan & Egypt: Petra to the Pyramids - Due to the evolving situation and ongoing disruptions to air service into and out of Amman, Jordan, Tauck has made the difficult decision to cancel all March classic and small group departures of Jordan & Egypt: Petra to the Pyramids.
Israel & Jordan - Currently not scheduled to operate until the fall. Our ability and intent to operate these journeys will be dependent on future developments in the region.
Egypt: Jewels of the Nile - Given the recent State Department advisory, Tauck has made the difficult decision to cancel upcoming departures of the Egypt: Jewels of the Nile itinerary through March 15th, 2026. We will evaluate later departures on a rolling basis.
As always, Tauck's Global Response Team continues to actively monitor world events on an on-going basis, consulting with our vast network of outside agencies, supplier partners, and other industry contacts to stay abreast of circumstances in all areas where we operate. The health and wellbeing of our guests, employees, and partners are our highest priorities.
Bummer but better than being stuck at one of those airports or worse.
Yes, when I think how often we fly through Doha. Next supposed to fly via there in October. Tauck sure has a lot of people to call.
Glad you didn’t get on the plane. We did that trip last fall and went to Dubai for a few days, first. We would have been stuck there with stuff flying over our heads with no way out!
