Attire Tips

We are going on this tour in August 2026. Looking for tips on what to pack for all the tours and elevation changes. Shoes and clothes tips welcome!

  • Layers work best so you can adjust for comfort. Comfortable walking shoes for sure. It's generally warmer in the lakes area, so short sleeves, lighter weight pants or capris and walking sandals work. It's a great tour!

  • July and August are generally the warmest months, particularly at the lower elevations. I agree with layering. A versatile, mix and match wardrobe and a light jacket, preferably one with a removable lining and hood will handle the cooler temperatures. I like merino wool for its lightness, softness and warmth. Same for cashmere. Good walking shoes with sturdy soles, too.
