question about laundry

We are doing Kenya and Tanzania in June. Laundry service has been discussed repeatedly on the forum but friends of ours did Victoria Falls to Capetown with Tauck and told us something I have not heard before They said that laundry service was available for the safari clothes but not underwear. They told us to bring enough underwear for the entire trip. This does not seem to make any sense. Can someone clear this up for us please

    It is true, in some African countries they will not launder underwear. It is a cultural thing and we have come across it several times. It’s not a long tour and it doesn’t stop you using your sink and shampoo
