Check out Il Refettorio. Modern, high-quality food and excellent service in an architecturally interesting setting. A very simple "artisan" Tagliolini with Truffle was so good it brought me back again. 😄 It's a manageable walk from Gritti , a quite classic Venice stroll.
We have had lunch twice at La Zucca and enjoyed it, recommended to us in the past by a local. It is mostly vegetarian. I am not sure that it qualifies as "non-touristy". We have tended not to emphasize the food as much in Venice.

There's a restaurant just across the way from the Gritti Palace...just go out the front door, walk about a block and it's on the left at a corner of the square. I don't know whether it's touristy, but I had a nice salad there. But I do agree that the terrace at Gritti Palace is lovely. It's where breakfast is served.

Carrie, It's an excellent restaurant with a full bar. We had dinner there twice in two weeks. Enjoy Venice!
