Attire for kids
My family - 2 boys ages 11 and 9 will be taking our first Tauck cruise on July 8 -Amsterdam to Basel. Any suggestions for boys attire for the evenings on the boat?

You'll see a variety of attire at meal times. For dinners, my boys wore polo shirts or short sleeve button down shirts with khakis or the like. They wore slip on canvas shoes. During the day, they wore plain t-shirts and shorts and fedora hats. Is there a formal dinner? My kids own suits so I know they've worn those before on cruises--you could always try to borrow one!
Jacket and tie are optional for this cruise so definitely no need for either. I'm only seeing dinners on board the ship and they are pretty casual these days. My husband wears polo/golf shirts and travel slacks most evenings and for nicer dinners a long sleeve button down shirts and dress slacks. I do recommend bringing a sweater or light jacket as the sundeck can be cool in the evening especially if it's underway which they often are then. It's fun to go up and watch the scenery or check out the action going through one of the many locks.
For a Tauck Bridges tour like this, I would not expect to have to purchase a suit for a young boy. Nice t shirt and long pants or not short shorts for a boy. Dress, not revealing, not short shorts or long pants for a girl. This is a family vacation, all three Bridges tours we have been on are very very casual.
