Shoes

I had planned to bring only two pairs of shoes -- one, somewhat dressy, the other, walking sneakers. Do I need sturdier shoes rather than sneakers?

  • No those will be fine. You might see some rain during the tour but no need for something sturdier.

  • I am not a sneaker person but as long as you believe you can be comfortable in them and they have an adequate amount of rubber on the soles, you should be fine. I would not recommend thin-soled shoes for touring. Enjoy.

  • Thank you.

  • I also don’t wear sneakers very often for tours but I do bring an extra pair of shoes suitable for walking just in case I have some sort of disaster with the first pair or they get very wet. Almost the most important piece of clothing you bring. One dressy pair is plenty.

  • Lots of cobblestones....................................I wore tennies always outdoors.

  • I have just discovered slip in Sketchers. Where have I been? They’re the best thing since apple pie. I do also like Hoka tennis shoes. I have real sensitive feet and have felt every cobblestone with a thin domed shoe so a shoe with a thick sole works for me.
