  • The roads can be very rough. You are also going in fhe season of the ‘short rains’ so it can get muddy with big puddles of water on the roads, sometimes even floods. We experienced that one year.
Take off in ballooons smooth, landing can be a bit of a bump but nothing to worry about.

  • We had a 4:30 am departure to get to the balloon ride. The road was bumpy, but my granddaughter was able to sleep the entire drive. The balloon ride was smooth and the pilots were very professional. They instructed us on exactly what we needed to do. It was an amazing experience, not to be missed! We did have a little bump on the landing, but the pilot prepared us so it wasn't a surprise. And after the ride comes the champagne breakfast! Enjoy your trip!

  • Regarding the balloon flight, how difficult is it to enter the basket? Asking for a friend.....

  • I can tell you about in Tanzania. The basket is on its side divided up into sections and you launch yourself in. Our Kenya one was cancelled two days in a row because of unsuitable weather. Apparently it’s much more common to be cancelled in Kenya according to one of the pilots I talked to.
