Good News + Answers

Before I get to the good news I want to reply to(was it Prague?) in the cancellation of the Prague to Paris tour discussion in this forum. I had seen a couple of comments but had to delay my reply because of an on-line bridge tournament. When I came back the entire discussion had disappeared and also all of my mail in my Tauck inbox has disappeared. but, to answer someone's question: No, I first called AON and sent them the required paperwork. I had several conversations with Tauck after that. Last week AON said that they couldn't move forward with my claim because I needed to supply them with the information regarding Tauck reimbursement. Tauck then told me that they will notify AON. So, I'm waiting.

There has, however, been some progress. Today I received a sizeable check from Tauck for the cancelled/interrupted trip .It came overnight UPS.What a huge relief! They did deduct two days from the check. Also, there was a perplexing additional deduction of $285.00. I googled for taxis from Prague to the airport and that should only be around $40. Surely Tauck didn't charge for that. I'm curious enough to probably call to find out.

Good luck to everyone who has this problem.

I’ll quickly summarize what I did. I thought that the paper we received in Prague was confusing. When I got home I called Tauck and was told to send them my flight change costs and other expenses. I sent them. I then received an email and was told that this was not the correct procedure. Once again, I called Tauck. I was told to send information to AON insurance. They needed my itinerary, my flight charges, proof of cancellation, proof of original payment and extra expenses. I submitted all last week. Then on Saturday, I received an email that informed me that I would be receiving a check from Tauck via UPS for the unused portion of my trip. On Monday, the check arrived. Then, surprise surprise, another check from Tauck appeared in my mailbox on Monday for $500 to help with the airfare. I’m confused as to why the insurance company is not responsible for the refunds and if they and Tauck work it out together, why I needed to send proof of everything other than flight changes and additional expenses.
