BLack & Gold or Roaring Twenties
We leave in three weeks for France and I remember reading that we would have a Roaring Twenties evening on board La Lumière. However, I just printed our detailed itinerary booklet and there is only a black and gold evening listed. Can I assume that this is the only party and no roaring twenties party? Is the specific booklet for the trip the bible I should follow. Thanks for any help you can offer.

I think so. The roaring 20s thing was more about it being Tauck's 100th anniversary year in 2025. In either case, it isn't a big deal. On our cruise last year only about a dozen people made any effort to dress up. We did a bit and got a nice photo using the photo booth they set up. You might see more people on the black and gold nights since that's a simpler ask. Have fun.

The Black and Gold party is 2026’s version of the Roaring Twenties party held throughout 2025. It is voluntary and you can still go and not wear black and gold.
From what I read from travelers who did participate, it is not a formal event—no tuxedos or ball gowns. My preference would be the ubiquitous little black dress with a thin gold belt and gold necklace. My husband could wear one of his jackets with, perhaps, a gold boutonnière.

Here we are at the Roaring 20s party night last year. As you can see the decorations don't mention Roaring 20s and they are Black and Gold, so they may use the same decorations.
This was on Budapest to the Black Sea tour. Could be similar on the La Lumiere.
We just returned from the La Lumiere. We had a black and gold party. Some dressed in roaring twenties though. I would say at least 75% of the guests participated. It was fun.
