Proper Attire for Temples and Shrines

in Odyssey in China: Beijing, Chengdu & Hong Kong
Does anyone know what clothing and shoes we should wear to visit Chinese Temple and Shrines?
Also, if we go to a nice restaurant on our own, do men need a coat and tie and women a nice dress or pants outfit or just whatever we bring along for the Tauck first and last dinners?

    Hi, Just booked the China Odyssey trip for April 2020. My question is , Are we dressing up every nite for dinners at the restaurants in the hotels?. I'm considering the limited weight and baggage limitation .
    ( Waldorf, Rosewood,Etc..)
