Airport Lounges

My husband & I plan to go on the Hidden Galapagos & Peru tour on Oct. 9. Returning from Guayaquil, our flight leaves at 1:50 AM. Does anyone have information on airport lounges, since we will have to check out of our hotel by noon?

Ask for a late check out! As a Tauck person, you are more likely to be given it, even if you have to pay a small fee…..or ask the help of the TD to help you with the request.

    jerry_nowakowski,

Why would you need to check out at noon the day before your flight? Since your flight is after midnight, check out should be at noon on that same day, not the day before.

If you mean lounges for business/first class passengers, they should be open 24 hours a day. Nonetheless, Tauck will certainly assist you. Speak with them when your tour begins.

    Enjoy your trip.

    jerry_nowakowski,

There aren't that many flights leaving Guayaquil for the US. They most likely only had a choice of flights that leave late at night (early the next morning) after the farewell dinner but before the tour actually ends, or staying the night, checking out at noon as required, and flying out the next night.

They obviously elected to stay the night since it is included with the tour and already paid for, then depart for the airport the next night (flying out after midnight again) so they need a place to hang out between noon and 0150.

We will be doing the same thing at the end of J&E. However we booked another day at hotel in Cairo (though we won't be staying the whole night) just so we will have a guaranteed place to stow our bags, nap, and freshen up before heading to the airport at around midnight for a 0245 flight. Unlike Guayaquil, there are interesting things to see and do in Cairo during our extra day.

You may want to check the lounge buddy site. Based on a quick look it shows Aeropuertos VIP Club as the only club currently open in the international terminal and it is open from 4am to midnight. I didn't look to see what airlines they service. We were on that trip three years ago and it was great!!

Would absolutely agree with Alan's approach: just book another night at the hotel. Then relax and be comfortable for the day and evening before Tauck will transfer you to the airport. Besides low expectations for a contract lounge at the airport, there may be a cost if you aren't flying the right airline or class.
