Does anyone have suggestions for sites to see for our extra days in Budapest and Prague that are not covered by Tauck. We are not doing the bicycle excursions, only the walking tours. Thanks!

In Budapest, the Dohány Street Synagogue is worth the time. We only had time for the guided tour of the main part of the synagogue but there is so much more to see there. Fascinating architecture and history. It's about a 10 minute walk from the hotel.
Sorry, can't help with Prague. Still on our todo list.
I loved loved loved that synagogue - so much history.
Walk across the river and go to the street close to Embassy Row. I can not remember the name of the street. I may have posted a comment from our trip in 2015. Loved Prague.

If interested in Jewish history, the Jewish quarter in Prague is a must. It can take days, however, to take it all in. There are several synagogues, a jewish cemetery and museums that chronicle Jewish life. Prague is where Hitler wished to build his museum showcasing an extinct race.
