Has anyone been on this trip ?

I was looking at this itinerary for our 2024 trip. Was wondering about how much time was spent on the bus and what time of year was the best time to plan the trip. Was it a good trip ? Any that you liked better ?
Thank you in advance

We did this trip in Sept/Oct last year - when the Passion Play was included. It was one of our favorite Tauck trips. So much to see. There are some long days on the MotorCoach thru the Dolomites, but the scenery is amazing and you stop at great excursions along the way. We love to travel in the Fall, but I'd imagine late Spring would be good too. We avoid Europe in the Summer. We did see SNOW in a few places in the higher elevations and it was in the 70s at other times.

We did this in Sept/Oct, 5 years ago. We picked the tour that just happened to start on opening weekend of October Fest. Arriving a day early allowed us to enjoy the festivities.
The leaves were also starting to change for Autumn. I don't recall the coach drives being to long and driving thru the Alps and Dolomites was beautiful with several scenic stops and rest breaks.

We just returned from this trip on 6/27 and it was wonderful. Lots to see and do, great food and beautiful hotels. Our TD was Heidi Lambrecht who's been with Tauck for 29 years and she was excellent. Her knowledge of the area made our bus time very enjoyable.Unfortunately she's now doing the Hawaii tours for the rest of the summer.
We didn't expect it but it was very hot in many places especially Salzburg. A bit cooler in the mountains but still unseasonably warm.
If you have free time in Munich be sure to visit Dallmayr. It is one of the finest food specialty shops in Europe and has a long history providing for the German aristocracy. Also visit The Viktualienmarkt. It's a great place to sit outside and enjoy a beer and a bratwurst. Both are within walking distance from the hotel.
On you free night in Lake Tegernsee try Carrera Ristorante. The owners are from Calabria and the food was excellent. It is a pleasant 10 minute walk along the lake from the hotel.
    Have fun!
