Should you have some cash (Euros) when on the tour?

Absolutely, to shop at the markets. Many stands will take a credit card but for less expensive purchases it’s good to have cash.

Some of the stands are multigenerational which means that Grandma or Grandpa would rather speak German. It’s best to familiarize yourself with the basic numbers eins, zwei, drei, vier, fünf etc. My favorite Grandpa experience was Tauck‘s excursion to Salzburg. My mother gave him too much money and he explained to me in German which I speak fluently that some vendors may not be honest.

YES. Most all the vendors want cash. CC will be accepted for more expensive items like the large spinners, Nativities, etc - but cash is the norm for food and products.
