Now day 2 of Antarctica trip

Enjoying Buenos Aires, 85 degrees daily- sunny, not humid, breezy, which has eliminated any mosquito concerns. Rooftop pool area nice, but can get crowded. Several casual restaurants along the canals near the Hilton. Has been very safe, but TD says beware pickpockets, so leave jewelry home. Both days had very nice tours of BA. Pix of tango show, Eva Peron mausoleum, St. Martin church, Boca color. Excellent steak for dinner day 1 and superb tango show. More excellent steak for lunch ( other choices). Very good breakfast buffet. This trip is casual, leave your fine clothes home ( one dress nice night coming on ship ).

Great photos. Just a note that although you have to be wary of mosquitoes in Argentina because of diseases like Dengue, there is no Malaria.

Restaurant in Ushuaia was ok and had time to walk around town before boarding ship. Left port about 7:30pm. Calm seas thru day 4 allowing us to arrive afternoon on Day 5 - may get bonus day to zodiac ! Expedition team will scope out for safety as it’s now windy, and hopefully see some chin strap penguins on Half Moon Island. A visit to bridge is interesting when allowed. Service and food on ship all wonderful. Crew doing nice job of providing information as needed. More to come

After calm seas throughout entire expedition, today we are forced to leave a day early, as storm system approaches ( we arrived a day early with calm seas ). Will be rough ride next 24 hours, but calm down near Ushuaia. TD Melissa has been wonderful. Entire crew from Ponant superb. Food and drink excellent. Landings and zodiac rides memorable. Bring a walking stick for landings. Layers are the way to dress. Neck gaiter really helps. Visit the bridge when open. We used our phones for most photos, but zoom lens best for close up of penguin colony chicks and whales. A fabulous experience!
