I was booked on an Israel/Jordan trip scheduled to leave this coming May. One week prior to my final payment being due I cancelled the trip and received a Credit good for 1 year for the travel insurance as well as a cash refund for the small deposit portion. At the time I was vacillating between paying for the trip and cancelling. What made me decide was reading the details of their travel insurance guarantee which stated that they would refund the cost of the trip in cash and credit the travel insurance. However the fine print gave the the right to just issue a credit in the event of some unforeseen event such as a pandemic. I decided that I didn’t want to potentially have a $25,000 credit. As much as I love Tauck and have traveled many times with them there is the possibility that they can not financially survive a prolonged period of no travel and close in which case a credit would be of little use. I hope this never happens.
