Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

Re: "Gift of Time" dropped from current reservation
@MarketArt When we did the Tauck tour of Scotland, England and Wales, we stayed at the Savoy in London for a couple of days. I know we would have never done that on our own. We're just too cheap… (View Post)2 -
Re: "Gift of Time" dropped from current reservation
We really appreciate the GoT. It's very nice to have a day to adjust to the different time zone. Of course, I know we pay for that GoT in the cost of the tour, but I expect that Tauck gets a gro… (View Post)1 -
Re: Global Entry (ID Card) Travel Question
I've never taken my Global Entry card. But I believe it satisfies the need for a Real-ID for boarding aircraft in the US (if you don't have a Real-ID driver's license). Side note, the … (View Post)4
