Since we can't update the "About me" field, I thought I'd put some information here.
I'm a retired electrical engineer, having spent the majority of my career in communications. I hold 32 US patents, mostly on communications subjects.
Although it was not the focus of my career work, I have a decent knowledge of power distribution, both in the US and internationally, especially for residential service. I also have some knowledge of three-phase and single-phase electric motors and their control systems, but mostly only smaller motors maybe up to 10HP.
After I retired, I took classes in woodworking and developed some level of skill. I've taught woodworking classes, short courses, in veneering, carving, dovetails, and box-making. I’ve built a lot of furniture for our home, to the point where my wife told me she doesn’t have room for any more in our house😊
My wife, Judy, and I travel a couple of times a year and I document our trips on our blog, www.mikeandjudytravel.com

We did not have any effects from the elevation. We're older than you. If you want a preview of the tour, go to https://www.mikeandjudytravel.com/2023-2Switzerland-01.htm (View Post)2 -
Re: Electronic Travel Authorization Requirement When Flying Through LHR
No, but I've always said that I want to pay lots and lots of taxes because it means that I'm making lots and lots of money :) (View Post)2 -

I've been looking at that tour for next year so please post your opinion when you return. (View Post)1 -
Re: Electronic Travel Authorization Requirement When Flying Through LHR
The ETA is not very expensive, easy to apply for, and good for two years. It's a good thing to have in your travel kit. (View Post)3 -
D-Day
Today (June 6) is the anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe (1944). The war in Europe would last until May 8, 1945, a bit less than a year after the invasion. (View Post)1
