Paris Normandy River Cruise October 8-20, 2025

Any advice for sites to see pre cruise? Plan to get tx to Musee D'Orsay and visit Notre Dame and the Tuileries. Tour includes Versailles. Staying pre-cruise 2 nights at Louve Hotel. Any local restaurants to recommend for dinner? Tx

  • If you love Stained Glass Windows - do a concert at St. Chapelle (or at least go see it). We are taking this cruise in a few weeks.

  • At the D'Orsay, definitely get either their audio guide (6 euros) or download the guide to your smartphone (free) while you're at home on your own wifi. The download has all the permanent collection but not the temporary ones.

FYI, many museums these days have audio guides downloaded to your phone. It's good to go to their websites and check what's available. I prefer to do this at home on my own fast, secure wifi. Also remember to bring headphones or earbuds.

  • We always enjoy visiting the Marais area, particularly its Jewish section, and Montmartre, the highest point in Paris. I am not familiar with your hotel but based on its name, you are probably close to the Rodin Museum. It has a nice little café.

We are early eaters unless celebrating a milestone event. We enjoy picking up a baguette, cheese, fruit and wine (love your profile name) and having a picnic. The outdoor cafés are good for a light meal and people watching.

We had an amazing meal at Guy Savoy to celebrate a special event. If fine dining appeals to you, your hotel's concierge can assist with reservations. She/he can also recommend restaurants based on your dining preferences.
