On-tour carry-on bag (ie backpack) dimensions for Botswana, South Africa and Zambia

Hello, I'm fully aware of the 16 lb limit for carry-on bags when traveling on the Botswana, South Africa and Zambia tour, as well as why that limitation exists. For previous patrons of this specific tour, what dimension bag have you used for the on-tour flights that use small planes. Unfortunately, documentation doesn't include dimensions for the carry-on like it does for the checked duffel.

I always use a Vera Bradley backpack, I’ve several . My husband uses a now ancient school backpack we got at Costco. No idea of measurements. There has been no problem anywhere in the world we take them. Including multiple times in Africa including this tour. We don’t like roller carry on, we like both hands free.

I used a very old and ancient large size foldable Longchamp tote. It served me well. I noticed other woman had the same tote. It was kept folded inside my duffle when I needed it.
