You might consider heavyweight tights under what you normally wear. It’s the wind that can make it brutally cold. Hats, scarves, warm socks and gloves, too. Don’t forget a good moisturizer and lip balm.
We just bought insulated water resistant pants at Costco by Eddie Bauer. We went on this trip with another company and it's worth every penny. Yes, on the sunscreen for lips.
