We enjoyed Milan a lot more than we thought we would. Seeing the Last Supper was on our bucket list and it was worth the hassle to get tickets (had to buy through a guide). We climbed the Duomo and nurse our achy legs the next day. Booked a food tour in the Navigli District (canals) through Eating Europe. A strong recommendation. Our first night we dined at Paper Moon Giardano thanks to a tip from a fellow poster here. The hotel also has restaurant recommendations and is good at getting a last minute table. Here is my review of this tour: https://forums.tauck.com/discussion/18223/just-returned-terrific-trip#latest
On independent travel, we enjoyed the Mercato Centrale for its dizzying array of food stalls.
The Monumental Cemetery has beautiful statuaries and above ground tombs. It is like walking through an outdoor museum. They also have a Jewish section with places to sit and reflect.
