Travel to Gauyaquil
We are set to go to Galapagos mid Feb. Has anyone experienced any problems when flying into or out of Gauyaquil, or on the cruise.

No trouble, but we were advised not to leave the hotel.

Guyaquil is not an interesting city nor a place to explore. I'm not sure if the hotel has changed, but where we stayed was on the low end of the Tauck scale.
When we did the Peru and Galapagos in 2021 we stayed at Hotel Del Parque in Guayaquil, which I thought was a very nice hotel. We also walked around the area - to a shopping center about a mile away. But I understand that the security situation has changed in Ecuador.
Guayaquil is in Ecuador, no?
We’ve been there twice before with the Tauck tour. no problem with flying there. Different hotels. There are lots of troubles going on there these days. We did walk around last time, but we don’t wear jewelry and take only a small amount of money when we do that. We walk along the river area, but basically it is a typical small South American city and you will not be missing anything if you stay at the hotel.

Goddess - Yes, Guayaquil is in Ecuador. That's the first mistake Mike has ever made and you were the first to notice it. 😂
