September or October

Has anyone taken this trip in September or October? Considering it for 2027 and it’s the start of the short rains - so hoped to hear from anyone who can provide more info. Thanks!

We went in an early January. Rwanda does not have the same rain patterns as Kenya and Tanzania but all year. But a lot in late September onwards. Check out Weatherspark for fantastic detail.
When you get to Rwanda and the Kigali area and the area you travel on the way to the park, you will see how lush the landscape is and how good it is for crops, a good clue about the climate.
The gorilla trek starts over fields where there are crops growing and then into the rainforest. There was no active rain on our trek but the pathway was certainly a bit muddy in the fields and certainly wettish greenery all around that the porters are chopping out of the way with machetes If Sept and October are your time frames, it seems that Early in September will be a safer bet.
