CLASSIC v SMALL GROUP - National Park Tours

Any opinions as to whether the classic size tour (44ish people) is too big for the National Parks tours? I have only been on the small group tours and classic tours that ended up being small groups in the past. Thank you for your thoughts ....

    We took a Bridges parks tour that had 45 people. It was not a problem. However, there was a dad and two sons who were rude and obnoxious causing the tour director lots of problems and another man who was swearing quite a bit. The thing with a big group is that you can easily avoid those people.
