Frankfurt Germany Airport

A recent poster stated that EES in Frankfurt is a problem. I am flying Newark to Frankfurt and then onto Malta in September. Does anyone have specific details of the problems?

Long lines, fights breaking out, scanners not working properly.

And whether it causes delays changes from airport to airport, day to day, and even during the same day. One person might sail through on a given day and another stuck in a long line. To an extent customs has always been that way. I've dealt with long and short lines in Paris and Amsterdam with no way of knowing which I'll get before hand.

Frankfurt is always a problem, EES or not.

last time we were through Frankfurt we scheduled an escort who met us when we deplaned and we flew through the airport. Worth the fee if you have a tight connection as we did. I think British offered that suggestion on the forum.

Like Augrl, I have used escort services at LAX because I was tired of waiting for wheelchair services for my husband. He has mobility issues and is slow (he no longer does guided tours but we still do independent travel.)

The service we use picks us up curbside with the wheelchair right there, whisks us through security, takes us to the lounge, picks us up again and takes him directly to the plane’s entrance. Upon landing at LAX, the process is reversed. I find the fee quite reasonable and we have never needed to wait. Interestingly, we have never had wheelchair issues at European airports.
