For those who had noticed that the MS Emerald was no longer in the ship line up for Tauck I found what happened to her. Scyla did a major renovation to the ship and is now sailing it as part of their Viva cruise line on the Seine. They reconfigured most of the cabin categories and and added a third dining venue. Basically now the old Compass, a bistro at the rear and the same casual venue at the bow in front of the bar like the new Serene and Lumiere. I watched a guest video of a cruise and can't say it appeals to me. Big focus on dining including an off ship opportunity only given to those in the largest suites and light on included excursions.
The Emerald was the ship on our very first river cruise so I found it interesting what her next iteration was.going to be.
