Join me at the spectacular Red Cliffs Lodge in Moab, Utah, one of the most scenic hotel settings on my 11-day Tauck "Spirit of the Desert" tour of the American Southwest and in my mind the Best Hotel on the Tour. Surrounded by towering red sandstone cliffs displaying extraordinary shades of red, orange, and gold, this lodge sits along the banks of the Colorado River, offering scenery that changes color throughout the day as the sunlight moves across the canyon walls.
In this hotel review, I take you inside Room #203, a spacious 400-square-foot accommodation with a wonderful view of the Colorado River just outside my room. I explore the lodge, its remarkable natural surroundings, and what makes this location such a memorable place to stay while visiting Moab, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park and Deadhorse Point, Utah State Park.
Red Cliffs Lodge also has a connection to Hollywood history, with the surrounding Moab landscape serving as a filming location for classic Western movies, including John Wayne's Rio Grande (1950). With scenery this spectacular, it's easy to understand why Hollywood came calling!
This video is part of my Tauck's Spirit of the Desert Video Series, featuring highlights of my 11-day journey through the spectacular American Southwest. I will add more videos to the series as I complete them, including hotel reviews, national park experiences, and other memorable moments from the tour.
