How close can you stay to Zion National Park without actually sleeping inside the park? Welcome to Cliffrose Springdale, Curio Collection by Hilton, one of the most conveniently located hotels for visiting Zion National Park in southern Utah. Cliffrose is just a short five-minute walk from the park's pedestrian entrance, with the Zion Canyon Visitor Center and with park shuttle buses, making it an exceptionally convenient base for exploring Zion without worrying about parking or driving into the canyon.
During my Tauck Spirit of the Desert Tour, I stayed in Room #129, approximately 400 square feet, with incredible views of Zion's towering red sandstone cliffs. The spectacular scenery was one of the highlights of my stay, and the hotel's beautiful grounds extend to the Virgin River, where guests can enjoy a sandy beach area with easy access to the river. The room itself was very comfortable, with some interesting features, including a nicely separated living area.
But was everything perfect? Not quite! The breakfast buffet provided to Tauck guests was, in my opinion, the worst breakfast of our entire Spirit of the Desert Tour. Quite a distinction for a hotel surrounded by such magnificent scenery! Fortunately, the views were considerably more appetizing than the breakfast, and there are plenty of nearby restaurants to choose from.
Is Cliffrose worth staying at when visiting Zion National Park? Absolutely! In my opinion, it is far superior to staying at Zion Lodge, particularly because of its comfortable accommodations, beautiful riverfront setting, convenient access to the park, and nearby dining options. Sometimes staying just outside a national park is better than staying inside!
