The final hotel on my October 2026 Tauck Spirit of the Desert Tour was the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel, Las Vegas. What a contrast it was to the other four hotels on my journey! After days of enjoying spectacular sandstone cliffs, towering canyon walls, and some of America's most magnificent natural scenery, I opened my curtains to discover the Las Vegas Strip. Talk about culture shock! Mother Nature had been replaced by neon lights, towering hotels, and a landscape created almost entirely by human beings with very large construction budgets. Fortunately, Tauck chose the Four Seasons, a luxurious, nongaming hotel that sits atop the Mandalay Bay that offers a peaceful escape from the casino madness of Las Vegas, while still being conveniently connected to the Mandalay Bay complex. Here, the emphasis is on outstanding service, spacious rooms, and relaxation rather than slot machines and blackjack tables. And speaking of luxury, I was so impressed with the thought of eating at the hotel's Veranda restaurant that I actually delayed my flight home just to enjoy one final breakfast. After 55 Tauck tours, I have learned that a good breakfast is worth getting up early for, but an exceptional breakfast may even be worth changing your airline schedule!
Four Seasons Hotel, Las Vegas NV - A great non-gambling hotel on the strip.
