    I agree with Mike. At our age we are more than happy to have a tour company that takes care of everything including our luggage. I think RS tours are for younger people. Also, at our age we like a little luxury.

    I posted the RS tour as a response to the OP. There is no question you get (and pay for) a lot of luxury and services on a Tauck tour compared to RS. We learned to pack light on RS tours as when you are handling your own bags it makes a huge difference. There are no dress up events so that helps. RS tours do not attract a younger age group; quite the opposite. The age demographics are much the same as Tauck; age range 50-80. We had one gent in his 90’s on one tour. In the summer folks tend to bring an occasional college age child or working adult on vacation (usually teachers). We are about to embark on our third Tauck tour with one scheduled in 2025. Yes, you easily get spoiled! Our jury is out on the quality of the guide (TD in Tauck terms) compared to RS. We had really excellent guides with RS. Our first TD on our first Tauck tour was not up to those standards although our second was a gem. Oh, one last thought: no tipping on a RS tour. He pays his folks well and they and the drivers and local guides as well as hotel staff are prohibited from accepting tips. I personally like that better.

    That’s good to hear about Rick Steves, saves carrying a lot of vulnerable cash around. I’m thinking of him right now as he battles his cancer diagnosis.

    Since you mentioned Rick Steves....if you are on his email list, you should have received an email stating that he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer and will have surgery in September.

    We are so sorry to hear about Rick Steve's cancer diagnosis. The good news he shared is "“My doctor assures me that, if you’re going to get cancer, this is a good kind to get, and careful scans show no sign of it having spread,” the 69-year-old said in a post on X."

    Mowie, seems we have gotten off your initial question. We absolutely loved the A&K tour of Türkiye.. We had a fabulous friendly expert guide. We stayed in Four Seasons and other five star hotels and meals were excellent everywhere.We took some internal flights, including Cappadocia and it was easy and efficient.We had three nights in Cappadocia which is one of the reasons we wen5 on the tour, and it was magical. Don’t hesitate….its a fab trip.

    Thanks Marla, But on their itinerary now it is only two nights in Cappadocia. If it were three, I would sign right away for the tour. When did you go on this trip? I will call A and K on Tuesday about it. Thanks for your feedback and so glad you had a wonderful trip with them!

    Mowie, we went in September of 2021. I thought it was three nights, but maybe it was only two. I need to go back to my pics and figure that out. We arrived and walked through the “Valley of Love” with all the fairy chimneys. The next morning we went to Goreme to view the church in the caves, and I believe we did the underground city that day as well. We all decided to do a private hot air balloon very early our last morning before flying out. So maybe that did all happen in two nights?
