Do you visit Versailles on this tour?
The description doesn't include anything about visiting Versailles. If that's the case, what is the point of staying at a hotel one mile away?
Seems very odd...

I guess you know the best thing to do is to call Tauck to get the most up to date info for this trip.
It’s where the tour starts. Tauck will make arrangements for a day pass if you arrive a day early. I came in 3 days ahead of the tour date and explored Versailles in detail. It is fabulous! The hotel sits just outside the main gate of Versailles and an hour and a half outside of Paris. This is a fabulous tour. Stay an extra day in Paris at the end of you can.
Thanks, Fran. Already scheduled an extra day on both ends.
I was at Versailles about 40 years ago. it will be interesting to see the upgrades the more recent kings have installed.
Did the tour last fall. It’s a great trip. You can get a tour guide for the palace or go on your own. For tickets, go to the palace website. We chose the passport ticket which includes the palace, gardens and the Trianon. If you can, get the earliest entrance time to beat the day trippers and the instagram crowd. The Petit Trianon and the queen,s hamlet are as interesting as the palace itself. You can also get the 1 year palace card which means you can skip the line. This may be a better option. The timed entrance lines do form at least 30 minutes early and make sure you are in the right line.
We took this tour this year. If you go to the concierge at the hotel you can get a free two day pass to Versailles. The hotel is adjacent to the east entrance which is near the Trianon palaces and the hamlet. Even if you do not come in a day early, if you arrive early in the day that the tour begins, you can spend half a day at Versailles before the welcome dinner. Since most people come a day early with the GOT, this enables you to go both days and see different parts of Versailles.
Thanks all!
no but you can get a pass from the concierge
