Dining at 4 Seasons Bali

I see that you are on your own at the 4 Seasons Bali on nights 8 & 9. Are there places to eat other than at the hotel?

  • The Four Seasons is a taxi ride away from town

  • Thanks British, did the TD provide suggestions for dinner?

  • You should know that the traffic on Bali is atrocious. It's bumper-to-bumper most anywhere, anytime. The tour provided motorcycle police escorts for the tour vans to get around the island. So a taxi ride to town for a meal may not be as easy as you think.

In addition, at least one of the evenings there was a native music/dance type of show at the resort. We found the resort food options to be acceptable.

  • There is a tiny restaurant at the 2nd Four Seasons somewhere around the back. I can’t recall the name or theme. We had a nice quiet dinner there and knowing us, jte food was likely adventurous. Try looking it up.

  • Day 8 and 9 is the Four Seasons Sayan. The 2nd Four Seasons is Jimaran Bay, for the last couple of days of the tour.

  • I did not venture into Bali for dinner, did not have any problems with the hotels restaurants.

    Hi, Sandman!

We had one dinner at the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay and one night we ventured out to another restaurant as we wanted to have a rice table. The restaurant was actually in a different hotel where they had entertainment (we dined outside). We had no problem with traffic getting there. However, I will say, the resort and food at Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay is so fabulous that I’m not sure I would have left in hindsight (although usually we do like to try local places outside of the hotels when possible). We didn’t leave the Four Seasons Sayan for dinner - although there are various restaurants in Ubud that looked nice. However, the restaurants at the resort were excellent.

There were monkeys climbing on people in the monkey forest when we took the tour. But they were encouraging them to do so..
At the monkey temple, one grabbed a cell phone from one of our group and took off down the cliff. The guy who was helping our group climbed down and offered the monkey food snd when he ran out of hands for the food, he dropped the phone. He had actually taken a selfie too, oh boy was that a crazy incident. If I can locate my photo of the monkey with the phone later, I’ll post it.

  • That’s a riot, British!!! We actually did witness a young woman get bit by a monkey at the Monkey Forest, but like you said, British, she was encouraging it - she was sitting with the monkeys and had a baby monkey on her lap. Another monkey came over and bit her (coincidentally I have it on video). We ran into her in the restroom and she showed us the bite. She had to go to the clinic there and they treated it. But that happened of course because she didn’t follow the guidance. The monkeys at the forest weren’t trying to snatch anything like the ones at the temple. It was entertaining at the temple, but you had to be mindful.
