  • schuchy, Tauck has expanded their complimentary post tour transportation and they may have this arrangement made for you if you have provided them with the information. They will make sure you have adequate time. Check with the cruise director when you arrive. They can arrange transportation for you. For Eurostar you should board 20 or 30. minutes prior to departure to make sue there is space for you luggage at the end of the car. If you are in the lowest class, there are more persons per car and the luggage space goes faster. There is room above your seat but usually this can maximally fit an international size carry on but not a 24 inch checked bag or larger. You will need 10 minutes from the entrance of the station to the platform. If I had to guess leaving at 8 should be ok, but again check with your cruise director. Occasionally there will be a transportation strike which screws up the transit time to the station. Typically these won't affect the high speed trains. Eurostar recently acquire Thalys so you may be on a red colored train but they are very similar.

  • schuchy, before you ever leave on the tour Tauck will want to know what your departure plans are - whether its a flight or train, what number, when, etc. If you haven't provided them with this information by either calling them or updating that section of your online acct then they will contact you.

Once you get on board the river cruise one of the first forms the cruise director (CD) will give you is one confirming those plans. The CD uses that to arrange all the departures with their transport service. They know how long it takes to get to the airport/train station, how long to get thru security (yes there is security on the Eurostar). A day or 2 before the cruise end the CD will hold a disembarkation briefing explaining how it all works. You'll get a sheet telling you what time to have your bags ready for the crew to pick up, when you'll leave the ship and which group number you're in. Since it's a train departure you'll likely be in your own group. They'll also give you special little numbered luggage tags for whatever your group number is.

As long as you've provided Tauck with the necessary info they will handle the rest. No worries. Enjoy.
