Bridges Galapagos/ July 7 - vaccinations
We'll be on the July 7, 2026 Galapagos/Bridges tour. There are 5 in our group, me (grandma) and my son & daughter-in-law and two children girl (11 yrs.) and boy (age 8). We live on Long Island, NY. I'm wondering if we need to get specific vaccinations for Equador. Also do we need medication for high altitudes. I read the CDC report for Equador, but thought someone here may have first hand knowledge. Thanks in advance.

I suggest you all see your family doctors as they and you know your medical histories and which vaccinations you have had in the past. Are you all up to date with the vaccines that everyone should have under your belts whether traveling out of the US or not. Example….have you had your shingles shot and so on? Some vaccinations are a series over several months, so it’s a good idea to start seeing your doctor as soon as possible. Take your itineraries with you so the doctor knows exactly where you are going.
We are taking our family on the tour but I recall it starts about July 11 th. I have been twice before but via Guayaquil which is not at elevation. I am a little concerned about the elevation of Quito but we are there for a short time so I am just going to take it easy and avoid alcohol until we get to the ship.
