I only asked the question because I have never been on a Tauck river cruise and I thought it might have been possible that Tauck had figured out a way to accommodate one who might wish to enjoy a cigar without negatively impacting others on the ship. (Perhaps while underway at the rear of the ship??) I would never wish to impose on other passengers who choose not to be around cigar smoke.
I would find that nearly as rude and unappealing as leaving a snide comment to a legitimate question on a travel forum.
You'd have to check with Tauck - but my understanding is that Tauck river ships are almost completely non-smoking (includes vaping). I think there might be a place on the top deck at the back of the ship where guests can smoke. But I don't know about cigars.
I doubt if there's any nice place where you can sit in a overstuffed chair with a brandy and smoke a cigar.
On the contrary, I’m being honest. I don’t want to encounter smoking on a ship.Only been on one Tauck River cruise and smoking was allowed by Arthur’s. There were smokers. The room wreaked of smoke. We tried to go several times but saw no one there, maybe others did not like it either.
It used to be right behind the wheel house on the sundeck but now I think it's at the aft end of the sundeck. It may vary from ship to ship. Captains always have the final say.
