@Mary Margaret McClure and/or anyone else who has completed this trip. Wondering if you'd kindly review your expereince on the Paradise Valley, Yellowstone & the Tetons trip? We're going in Aug and just got a notice that they're canceling the Under Canvas in West Yellowstone, and sending us to a Hilton hotel instead. We're disappointed to hear that, but would love to hear from someone whose been there to see if that's change is warranted.
I thought the reason the trip was expensive was because of those luxury tents. Is there mention of a refund?
Yes - our email said there would be a partial refund for the difference between Under Canvas and the Hilton.
The refund amount is $100. Their note said "a few guests found the overnight temps and rustic accomodations less comfortable than anticipated". Given their promotional materials really emphasise the Under Canvas stay, and I assume most people sign up because of that feature, it seems like a bold move to swap this out for a 2-star hotel. Gone are also the stargazing, campfire and camp bbq. Disappointing to say the least.
