What does a tent room at the Kirawira Tent Camp in the Western Serengeti really look like? This location is a 2 1/2 hour drive on very bad dirt roads from the Central Serengeti accommodation. This luxurious tent camp does actually consists entirely of tents that have modern furnishings inside them. Glamping is the term to describe staying at a tent camp. And this place is indeed glamorous tent lodging. BEWARE there are also plenty of insects everywhere, including under pillows. Also you need escorts to go to your tent in the dark. The tents are neither heated nor cooled. Our tent was hot during the daytime and perfect at night. Also as with all Serena establishments, the location is ideal, the view from your porch wonderful, but the tent camp is not handicap accessible. This is a great place to experience the nearby animals at their best during the game drives.

    We remember this camp well. We had no insect problems. We were not in the tent during the day, so can’t comment if it was hot.
    It’s a great video, but may I say it would be better without your voice.

    There are many aspects of one's life that one can not do anything about. My voice is one of these things. I suggest to British that they mute my videos if my voice is so disturbing, since I am not about to create silent videos. There is one more video to go in this series, British, please try watching it first without sound and let me know what you think.

    Right on imalemon and Carlsbadsue! These are great informative videos that imalemon has taken time to make and we all appreciate them. For those folks considering an African safari these videos are a big help in making that decision. The videos bring back memories of our 2018 K&T trip. One final note, last time I looked this is the TAUCK Travel Forum and not the "British Travel Forum". Keep the videos coming!

    Yes, the videos are great. But I remembered when imalemom posted a video of the entire Cuba tour which we watched. I had wanted to visit but Mr B had not. When he saw the video, his reaction was, well there is no need to go,we have seen it all right here and the guy sounds bored out of his mind. I’ll make no further comment on this one.

    Interesting about those trip videos/ slideshows...They can be very persuasive...in 2013 when our Egypt trip was cancelled at the last minute, I thought it might be the prime time to push for the Kenya & Tanzania trip I had always wanted to take and my husband did not. Fortuitously, a Tauck traveler with the handle of “ Handyandy” posted his 30 minute video of this trip on Vimeo and posted a link on the Forum. He is a great photographer and the video was basically his family’s experience with a great soundtrack and testimonials from various family members. Well, I thought it was terrific, and when my husband watched it, he was convinced to take the trip (which turned out to be our favorite Tauck trip)! I must have watched that video 3 or 4 more times prior to our trip as questions arose in my mind. I think it says a lot when one spends that much time basically looking at someone’s home movies! I think we have to remember that most folks sharing digital travel memories have not created them for professional use, but rather the enjoyment of their family, friends and themselves. I say, keep ‘em coming!
