Recommended gear for Grand Alaska

Have looked at Tauck's link on gear for the Alaska tours. The site shows trekking poles. Did anyone find them necessary?
Saw a video on Youtube.com person said in the helicopter and plane trips, you can't take a backpack. Anyone experience that? Is it true? Thanks in advance.

    Trekking poles are only necessary if you like to use them while hiking. Purely optional. No helicopter on this trip, but there is a flightseeing float plane ride. We couldn't do it on our trip because of bad weather. My guess is that you are limited on the plane and may have to leave larger personal items on the bus. My understanding is that the bus drops you off for the plane ride and picks you up on the other end. As always, it is safe to leave your personal items on a Tauck bus.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor. You may navigate to these using the arrow keys inside of the editor and delete them with the delete or backspace key.
