Things to do in Zurich

We'll be staying 3 extra nights in Zurich following our Switzerland:Europe's Crown Jewel tour.

Didn't pre-book any tours, etc. Anyone have recommendations for not to be missed sites, museums, etc? If nothing pops up, we may be forced to eat chocolate and shop all day long. Sigh...

We spent a few days there after that tour. Lots of museums and day trips available.

We took a day trip to Schaffhausen and the Rhine Falls on the train. The falls are beautiful and Schaffhausen is a quaint town with a fort and a pedestrian shopping area.

In Zurich we went to the National Museum. Some interesting displays. Before you go, download the audioguide to you smart phone - Landesmuseum Schweizerisches National Museum - using your home wifi.

There's also the Grossmunster and Fraumunster churches. The later has stain glass windows by Chagall.

Since it's on a lake there are lake cruises.

Loads of other museums and shopping.

We’ll be stying in Zurich a couple days before our land tour to Croatia. Any must-do’s in Zurich? A lake cruise and surrounding area tour are of interest.
