Hi friends,

I am taking the July 20th sailing of Tauck's Iceland cruise, but my question is more about a beginners guide to purchasing a set of binoculars. What specifications should I look for or expect to spend for a decent pair? I go for walks regularly where I live to a local Audubon so I intend on using it beyond this trip and would like to make a smart investment. Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

I purchased a pair of Nikon 10 x 42 Monarch M5 binoculars for our trip to Iceland 2 years ago from Amazon. Around $300. I also purchased the binocular harness. Very happy with them. We spend time in Florida and I use them there for bird watching. I have friends who are avid birders who helped me with this choice. We LOVED our trip to Iceland.

I have Gllysion 12X50 binoculars that I purchased on Amazon. They are very good and not expensive.
